1ct Diamond Ring Value

Carat describes a diamond’s weight, not its size. The weight of a gemstone doesn’t always dictate its size, because different shapes of diamonds carry their weight differently. A one-carat diamond can cost anywhere from $1,800 to $12,000. However, the size of a gemstone is not indicative of its quality. When determining the value of a diamond, the “four Cs” of diamond quality (cut, color, clarity, and carat weight) are always taken into consideration. Therefore, both the carat weight and quality of a gemstone make a big difference in the price of a diamond engagement ring.

How much is 1ct Diamond Ring Value?

The value of a 1 carat diamond ring depends on several factors:

Color

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) uses a colour scale to grade diamonds, with D colour diamonds being the highest quality and Z colour diamonds being the lowest quality.

Cut

Cut grade is more important than any of the other c’s when it comes to how a diamond looks. But remember, when we talk about a diamond’s “cut,” we’re referring to more than just its shape.

When determining a gemstone’s cut quality, we look at three things: fire, brilliance, and scintillation. Fire is how a diamond glows in the light, while brilliance is the white light reflection on a diamond’s external and internal surfaces. Scintillation, finally, is what we call the light and dark patterns that are visible whenever a gemstone is moved or tilted.

Clarity

Clarity is related to how light passes through the gemstone. The different grades of clarity, from highest to lowest, are:

– Flawless (FL)

– Internally Flawless (IF)

– Included (I1, I2 and I3)

– Very Slightly Included (VS1 and VS2)

– Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1 and VVS2)

– Slightly, Included (SI1 and SI2)

Carat

A carat is a weight unit typically used to measure the size of a diamond. It is important to note that, due to large diamonds being rare, the greater the carat weight of a diamond, the more value it has.

Conclusion

The average diameter of a 1 carat round cut diamond is approximately 6.5 mm, but this number can differ depending on the shape and quality of the cut. Additionally, Some diamonds are cut deeper than others, which results in a hidden carat weight near the bottom of the stone.
